Leading Teams: Building Effective Team Cultures
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
I almost only focused on technical things at my early stage of career, but my working experience generally changes my mind. It has been years I believe that people and culture are more important than technology. Cultures matter. Uniting talent people and building a team is not as easy as it seems.
This course teaches how to build effective teams from 3 perspectives: culture of safety, culture of engagement, and culture of growth. The lecturers are wonderful, I like the amazing wording, I like the interviews from different people with unique background.
Working in a tech giant offers wonderful opportunities to concrete those abstract concepts in textbook. Every mail, meeting, presentation, survey actually is quietly delivering the sense of team culture. When I was taking this course, there has be a lot ‘Aha” moments that I realized my company is build team culture exactly as what is taught in the course. π
This course is part of an MBA program. Somehow I begin to believe that MBA is a must-have if I want to have a better career in the future.
