What is Compliance

The world today operates in a highly regulated environment. Failure to comply usually leads to catastrophic loss. The course case-studied quite a few companies which face serious reputational and economic harm: Enron, Google, Uber, Valkswagon, Facebook. Very interesting.
In this is a short introductory course, but a few topics reminds me of many incidents and events in my career. Every year, we have training about compliance. Often we get emails from upper leadership team reminding of certain rules or regulations. There are occasional checks for them. It is true that it is a little bit annoying, but I can’t agree more that good compliance programs create much indispensable and positive values. They boost team morale, promote good business, build good reputation, etc.
