Inferential Statistical Analysis with Python
University of Michigan
Simply put, this course teaches 2 things: confidence intervals and hypothesis testing. Both of them are so fundamental that a solid grasp is critical. Bear in mind that calculating the mean or percentage value from a sample is not the whole story. The range of values you estimated with the confidence you hold is more meaningful and more professional.
This course covers 5 scenarios: a proportion, difference in two proportions, a mean, difference in two means in paired data, and in independent groups. Understanding them from the perspective of math is not difficult, however I found it is challenging to express (I mean wording) your conclusion in a professional and concise way. Again, a convincing conclusion is far more than a single value of mean or proportion.
You have tons of choices when it comes to asking a computer to do the calculation for you. This course, as its title implies, will teach how to use Python. The programing assignments are easy-peasy, which give you a first impression of what it will be like if you are a Pythonista.
