A Crash Course in Data Science
Johns Hopkins University
As the pilot of the specialization “Executive Data Science”, this very short course provides a bird’s eye view of a few critical aspects for data science. The most impressive to me is the comparison between machine learning and traditional statistics. This is very interesting to realize there are so much “brew haha” between them.
The course also covers software engineering, structure of projects, definition of success, etc. Even though these topics are superficial introduction, they aroused my interest to complete this specialization and a few others about statistics and bioinformatics, and to start my new quest for programming in R language.
